Book Review: How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth

TOUGH LOVE at its best.
I love how this book makes no compromise on certain points. Especially one that they mentioned earlier on in the book: It’s about what the Bible was meant to say, not what you thought it meant, not what you want it to mean, not what it directly says to you, not about literal meaning.
It really speaks to me as my friends have been recently swamped with different cult-like doctrines that seem to draw on selected passages in the Bible to prove their point, and while sometimes it’s painfully obvious why they got it wrong, many leaders are not equipped to challenge and/or educate them.

Thank you for this book because it really changed my perspective on what the Bible is, and yes, we should rely on the Holy Spirit to teach us and not just blindly selectively choosing things that make sense to our culture while outrightly rejecting those which do not.

I now read the Bible with a newfound understanding, and all I can say is, this is just the beginning!
Will be revisiting this book soon. 🙂
